SUNFLOWER CUPCAKE

Ingredients

For Cupcake:

1: plain flour 1 cup

2: granulated sugar 1 cup

3: cocoa powder 1/2 cup

4: vegetable oil 1/4 cup

5: vanilla essences 1 tsp

6: baking powder 1/2 tsp

7: baking soda 1/3 tsp

8: egg 1

9: buttermilk 1/2 cup (room temperature)

10: warm water 1/2 cup

11: salt 1/2 tsp

12: cupcake tray with liners

 

Butter Cream Frosting:

1: unsalted butter 225g (room temperature)

2: confectioner sugar 2 & 1/2 cups

3: vanilla essences 1 tsp

4: yellow food color 1/2 tsp

5: chocolate chips 1/2 cup

 

Instructions

  1. SUNFLOWER CUPCAKE

    1: sieve plain flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt mixed with a spoon.

    2: then add buttermilk, oil, warm water, egg, and vanilla essence to the dry mixture and whisk very well till smooth.

    3: fill the cupcake liners with the batter 2/3 way full.

    4: bake for 20 to 25 minutes.

    5: once baked leave to cool in the tray for 5 minutes, then remove and place on the cooling rack to cool completely.

    6: in a bowl add the butter and beat till smooth and creamy.

    7: add vanilla, and food colour and beat well.

    8: sieve the powdered sugar, add in the butter, and beat for 3 to 5 minutes till combined and fluffy.

    9: to decorate, spread a thin layer of frosting on each cupcake.

    10: Place the remaining frosting in a piping bag fitted with a star-shaped nozzle, pipe petals around, and fill the center with the chocolate chips.

    11: serve and enjoy.
