Special Dal Recipe
Ingredients
For Cooking Dal:
- 1 cup Moong dal (Yellow lentils, soaked for 2 hours)
- 1 cup Masoor dal (Red lentil, soaked for 2 hours)
- 2 large tomatoes (ground)
- 1 large onion (ground)
- 1 tbsp heaped ginger & garlic paste
- 1 tbsp heaped coriander powder
- 1 tsp garam masala powder
- 1 & 1/2 tsp heaped cumin seeds
- 1 tsp crushed black pepper
- 1 tsp turmeric
- 1 & 1/2 tsp salt
- 2 black cardamoms
- 2 tsp red chilli powder
- 5 cups water
For Tempering the Dal:
- 4 boiled eggs (cut into 4 pieces)
- 5 bullet green chillies (cut into 4 pieces)
- 1 inch ginger (julienne cut)
- 5 garlic cloves (julienne cut)
- 1 tsp red chilli powder
- 1 cup clarified butter (ghee)
- 4 tbsp coriander leaves

Delightful Cooking Method:
1. Combine all "to cook dal" ingredients, cover, and simmer until tender and mushy.
2. In a separate pan, heat clarified butter, fry ginger and garlic until golden.
3. Add red chilli powder, green chillies, boiled eggs, and coriander leaves to the dal mixture.
