ROGHNI NAAN RECIPE

Cooking Temp: 260  °C

Ingredients

1: plain flour 3 & 1/2 cups

 2: milk powder 1/2 cup

 3: sugar 2 tsp

 4: baking soda 1 tsp

 5: active yeast 1 & 1/2 tsp

 6: salt 1 & 1/2 tsp

 7: yogurt 2 tbsp (room temp)

 8: egg 1

 9: melted unsalted butter 3 tbsp

 10: milk 1/2 cup (warm)

 11: water 1/2 cup (warm)

 

 For Coating:

 1: milk 1/2 cup 

 2: sesame seeds 2 tbsp

 3: milk powder 2 tbsp

 

 For Serving:

 1: butter salted 

Instructions

  1. ROGHNI NAAN RECIPE

     1: in a warm glass of water add sugar, and yeast mix and keep aside for 5 to 10 minutes till it gets frothy.

     2: in a bowl add plain flour, milk powder, baking soda, salt, egg, butter, yogurt, milk, and yeast mixture, mix well and knead for 3 to 4 minutes to make the dough, add a little oil on the top, cover and keep in a warm place till doubles in size for 2 to 4 hours.

     3: in a bowl add milk, milk powder mix.

     4: once the dough has doubled in size, punch, and dough to remove extra air, and make balls.

     5: How to make the naan in a pot:

    (heat the pot on high flame for 5 to 6 minutes) Dust the surface with plain flour, flatten the sides, and roll it, with the help of your fingertips press down firmly, brush it with the milk mixture, sprinkle the sesame seeds, place the naan in a tin, and then transfer it in the preheated pot on a stand, cover and bake for 12 to 15 minutes or till gets golden and rises, brush butter on it and serve hot.

     6: How to bake it oven:

    preheat oven 20 minutes before 260c, 400f, gas mark 6, repeat the naan process as shown in the video, place the naan in a baking tray, and bake for 9 minutes or till gets golden, brush with butter, and serve hot.

     7: How to make it on a pan:

    heat the pan on high flame, and repeat the naan process as shown in the video, now add some water at the bottom of the naan, this helps the naan to stick to the pan, place the naan on the hot pan and wait till you see small bubbles on the top of the naan on low to medium flame and then flip the pan over the flame to give color, brush with butter and serve hot.

     NOTE: if not served keep it covered in foil.
