PUNJABI ZARDA

Best Season: Suitable throughout the year

Ingredients

 1: rice 1/2 kg (boiled with 1 tsp salt)

 2: sugar 1/2 kg

 3: water 1/2 cup

 4: carrots 2 cups (grated)

 5: coconut 1/3 cup (sliced)

 6: almonds 20 (skin off and sliced)

 7: pistachio 20 (sliced)

 8: raisins 1/3 cup

 9: cinnamon stick 1 piece

 10: cloves 5

 11: green cardamom 7

 12: ghee 1/2 cup

  1. PUNJABI ZARDA

    1: heat ghee add, cloves, cinnamon, green cardamom, sugar, and water, and cook on high flame till the sugar dissolves.

    2: now add boiled rice mix, and cook on high flame till the water dries.

    3: then add coconut, and carrots cover the lid with a tea towel, and simmer on low flame for 10 to 15 minutes.

    4: now add the almonds, pistachios, raisins mix.

    5: serve hot.
