Punjabi Chicken Handi

Ingredients

1: oil 1/2 cup

 2: cinnamon stick 3

 3: star anise 1

 4: coriander seeds 1 tbsp (heaped crushed)

 5: dry fenugreek leaves 1 tbsp (heaped)

 6: salt 1 & 1/2 tsp

 7: turmeric powder 1/2 tsp

 8: red chilli powder 1 & 1/2 tsp

 9: chicken 1 kg

10: onions 2 medium ( finely chopped)

11: tomatoes 4 medium (sliced)

12: water 1 & 1/2 cup

13: yogurt 1 cup

14: fresh coriander hand full

15: green chilli 4 (sliced)

Instructions

  1. 1: heat oil add cinnamon sticks, star anise, coriander, dry fenugreek, salt, turmeric, salt, red chilli powder, chicken mix well.

     2: then add onions, tomatoes mix well add water and cook on low to medium flame till the chicken is tender.

     3: add yogurt and cook on high flame till the oil comes on the surface.

     4: then add fresh coriander, green chilli mix well on high flame.

     5: serve hot with roti, naan.
