MISHTI DOI Dessert

Ingredients

 1: thick greek yogurt 400ml (keep it in a sieve for 2 to 3 hours to drain all liquid)

 2: sweetened condensed milk 110ml

 3: cream 200ml

 4: brown sugar 4 tbsp

 5: green cardamom powder 1 tsp

 6: almonds 10 (crushed)

 

Instructions

  1. 1: in a bowl add the yogurt, cream, sweet condensed milk, brown sugar, green cardamom, mix well till combined.

     2: boil water in a large pot, place a stand.

     3: now divide the mixture in small ramekins or one large dish, cover with foil.

     4: place the covered bowls in a baking tin, transfer  the tin the the preheat steam pot, cover and steam for 35 to 1 hour.

     5: once steamed leave to cool and then keep in fridge to chill.

     6: add some crushed almonds.

     7: serve and enjoy.

     

    NOTE: if the yogurt will have liquid it will not set at all, so please make sure the yogurt is left for enough time to drain.

    can bake it as well, place the bowls in a cake tin covered with foil, add hot water to the tin and bake it for 30 to 40 minutes on 170c, 338f, gas mark 3.
