MASOOR DAL GOSHT RECIPE

Ingredients

1: masoor dal 1/2 kg (boiled with 1/2 tsp turmeric & 1 tsp salt)

 2: mutton 1 kg

 3: tomatoes 3 large (grind)

 4: onion 1 large (grind)

 5: green chilli 3 (finely chopped)

 6: red chilli powder 1 & 1/2 tsp

 7: coriander powder 1 & 1/2 tsp

 8: turmeric 1/2 tsp

 9: cumin powder 1 & 1/2 tsp

 10: salt salt 2 tsp

 11: ginger & garlic paste 2 tbsp

 12: garam masala powder 1 tsp

 13: cumin seeds 1 tsp

 14: cinnamon stick 2 pieces

 15: black cardamom 3

 16: oil 3/4 cup

 

For Tempering:

1: button red chilli 4

2: kishmiri red chilli 1/2 tsp

3: green chilli 1 (sliced)

4: cumin seeds 1/2 tsp

5: garlic 6 cloves (finely sliced)

6: dry fenugreek leaves 2 tbsp

 
 
 

Instructions

  1. MASOOR DAL GOSHT RECIPE

     1: heat oil add cumin seeds, cinnamon, black cardamom mix.

     2: add onion, ginger & garlic, green chilli mix and cook on high flame till changes colour.

     3: now add meat and fry till changes colour on high flame.

     4: then add coriander powder, cumin powder, turmeric, salt, red chilli powder mix well, add tomatoes and cook on high flame till the oil comes on surface.

     5: add water 2 & 1/2 cups, wait for a boil on high flame, then cover and cook on low to medium till the meat is tender  and oil comes on surface.

     6: now add the boiled dal, garam masala powder, mix and simmer for 10 minutes on low flame.

     7: for tempering: add oil, garlic, cumin seeds fry on high flame till gets golden, then green chilli, red chilli, button red chilli.

     8: dish the dal and top it with the tempering, sprinkle fenugreek leaves.

     9: serve hot with Roti or Rice.
