Masoor Dal Chicken

Ingredients

 1: oil 3/4 cup

 2: cumin seeds 1 & 1/2 tsp

 3: onions 2 large  (grind)

 4: ginger & garlic paste 2 tbsp

 5: salt 1 & 1/2 tsp

 6: red chilli powder 2 tsp

 7: coriander powder 1 tbsp 

 8: cumin powder 2 tsp

 9: turmeric powder 1 tsp

10: tomatoes 4 large (grind)

11: brown lentil 500g (washed & boiled with 1/2 turmeric, 1/2 salt till tender)

 

 For Tempering:

 1: oil 1/2 cup

 2: cumin seeds 1/2 tsp

 3: garlic 6 cloves (sliced)

 4: green chilli 4 (slice)

 5: kashmiri chilli powder 1/4 tsp

 6: fresh coriander handful

 7: garam masala powder 1 tsp

Instructions

  1.  1: heat oil add cumin seeds, onions, ginger & garlic paste and fry till changes colour on high flame.

     2: then add salt, red chilli, coriander powder, cumin powder, turmeric, tomatoes mix and cook on high flame till the oil separates.

     3: add the chicken mix and cook on high flame till the chicken changes colour, add water 1 cup mix, cover and cook on low to medium flame till the chicken is tender and oil separates.

     4: now add the boiled lentils mix and simmer on low fame for 6 to 7 minutes.

     5: heat oil add cumin seeds, garlic and fry till gets golden.

     6: add green chilli, Kashmiri chilli powder, fresh coriander, garam masala powder mix and add to the dal mix well.

     7: serve hot with roti, naan, paratha, boiled rice.
