KOYLA MOONG MAKHANI

Ingredients

1: moong dal 1/2 kg (soaked over night & boiled till tender)

 2: salt 2 tsp

 3: turmeric 1/2 tsp

 4: coriander powder 1 tbsp

 5: red chilli powder 1 & 1/2 tsp

 6: garam masala powder 1 tsp

 7: ginger & garlic paste 1 tbsp

 8: onion 2 large (grind to paste)

 9: tomatoes 4 medium (grind to paste)

 10: bell pepper 1 medium (deseeded and chopped)

 11: carrot 1 large (peeled and chopped)

 12: butter 200g

 13: cream 1 cup

 14: oil 1/3 cup

 

 

 

 For Tarka:

 

 1: garlic 4 (sliced)

 2: cumin seeds 1 tsp

 3: green chilli 3 (sliced)

 4: butter 50g

 5: oil 3 tbsp

 6: coal 1  

Instructions

  1.  1: boil the dal, till tender.

     2: heat oil, butter add the onions, ginger & garlic paste, fry till changes colour.

     3: then add tomatoes, salt, turmeric, coriander powder, red chilli powder, garam masala powder mix and cook till the   oil comes on surface.

     4: now add bell pepper, carrot, dal mix and cook on medium to high flame till the dal gets thick.

     5: add cream and cook further till the dal gets thick.

     6: heat the coal and smoke the dal.

     7: heat oil, butter add garlic fry till gets golden, then add cumin, green chilli add to the dal.

     8: serve with roti or rice.
