Classic Masala Chops Recipe
Ingredients
To Marinate:
1: mutton chops 1 kg
2: raw papay paste 2 tbsp
3: ginger & garlic paste 2 tbsp
4: cumin seeds 1 tbsp (dry rosted & crushed)
5: salt 1 & 1/2 tsp
6: red chilli powder 1 & 1/2 tsp
7: chicken powder 2 tsp
8: crushed black pepper 1 tsp
9: carom seeds 1 tsp (ajwain dry roasted & crushed)
10: yogurt 1 cup
11: cream 1 cup
Other Ingredients:
1: oil (or) ghee 3/4 cup
2: green chilli 4 (chopped)
3: onions 2 large (grind)
4: water 1 glass
5: garam masala powder 1 tsp
6: dry fenugreek leaves 1 tbsp (heaped)
7: green chilli 4 to 5
Instructions
-
1: in a large bowl add all ingredients under marination with the chops mix well and keep aside for 2 & 1/2 hours.
2: heat oil (or) ghee add green chilli, onion and fry on high flame till the onions change colour.
3: now add the marinated chops mix and cook on high flame till the meat changes colour.
4: then add water mix, wait for a boil on high flame, then cover and cook on low to medium flame till the meat is tender and oil separates.
5: now add dry fenugreek leaves, garam masala powder, green chilli and simmer on low flame for 3 minutes.
6: serve hot with roti, naan.
