Chicken Zinger Roll

Ingredients

For Marinating Chicken:

- 1 kg chicken tenders

- 1 tsp salt (heaped)

- 1 tsp red chili powder (heaped)

- 1 tsp crushed black pepper (heaped)

- 2 tbsp hot sauce

- 2 tbsp vinegar

- 2 tbsp dark soy sauce

- 1 tbsp crushed garlic

 

For Coating:

- 4 cups plain flour

- 1 & 1/2 tbsp garlic powder

- 1 & 1/2 tsp salt

- 1 & 1/2 tsp red chilli powder

 

To Make the Sauce:

- 1 cup mayonnaise

- 1/2 cup tomato ketchup

- 3 tbsp hot sauce

 

Other Ingredients:

- Chilled water (for dipping chicken in summer) or plain tap water (for winter)

- Oil (for deep frying)

- Lettuce (sliced)

- Onions (sliced)

- Frozen readymade parathas

  1. 1. Marinate the Chicken:

       - In a large bowl, combine the chicken tenders with salt, red chilli powder, crushed black pepper, hot sauce, vinegar, dark soy sauce, and crushed garlic.

       - Mix well, cover, and refrigerate for 1 hour to let the flavours infuse.

     

    2. Prepare the Coating:

       - In another bowl, mix the plain flour, garlic powder, salt, and red chilli powder.

     

    3. Coat the Chicken:

       - Take each marinated chicken tender and roll it in the flour mixture.

       - Dip it briefly in water, then roll it again in the flour mixture for a double coating. Set aside.

     

    4. Fry the Chicken:

       - Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot.

       - Fry the coated chicken tenders on medium to high flame for 6 to 7 minutes until they turn crisp and golden brown.

       - Place the fried chicken on a wire rack to keep the coating crispy.

     

    5. Make the Sauce:

       - In a bowl, combine mayonnaise, tomato ketchup, and hot sauce. Mix well and refrigerate until ready to use.

     

    6. Cook the Parathas:

       - Warm the frozen parathas as per the package instructions.

       - Brush a little oil on a flat pan and cook the parathas until they are golden and crispy.

     

    7. Assemble the Chicken Zinger Rolls:

       - Spread the prepared sauce on each paratha.

       - Place a fried chicken tender on top, followed by sliced lettuce and onions.

       - Drizzle more sauce if desired and roll the paratha tightly.

     

    8. Serve and Enjoy:

       - Serve the Chicken Zinger Rolls hot with a side of fries and cold drinks. Enjoy your meal!
