Chicken Dum Masala

Ingredients

 1: chicken 1 kg

 2: onions 2 large (grind)

 3: thick yogurt 1 cup

 4: ginger & garlic paste 2 tbsp

 5: almonds 2 tbsp

 6: desiccated coconut 1 & 1/2 tbsp

7: cashew nuts 2 tbsp

 8: milk 3 tbsp and saffron 1/4 tsp

 9: red chilli powder 1 tsp (heaped)

 10: cumin powder 1 & 1/2 tsp

 11: corainder powder 2 tsp

 12: turmeric 1/2 tsp

 13: green chilli 4 (finely chopped)

 14: garam masala powder 1 tsp

 15: lemon juice 2 tbsp

 16: green cardamom powder 1/2 tsp

 17: salt 1 & 1/2 tsp

 18: crushed black pepper 1 tsp

 19: oil 1/2 cup

 20: fresh coriander handful

 

Instructions

  1.  1: dry roast the almonds. cashew nuts once gets a colour then add the coconut and roast it aswell till changes colour, then grind it to a paste with little milk.

     2: marinate the chicken with milk and zaffron, turmeric, red chilli powder, garam masala powder, corainder powder, lemon juice, crushed black pepper, cumin powder, green cardamom powder, salt, green chilli, ginger & garlic paste, yogurt, nuts roasted and grinded mix well and a leave it for 1 hour.

     3: heat oil add onon and fry till gets golden.

     4: add the marinated chicken, water 1 cup, wait for a boil on high flame and then cover and cook on low to medium till the chicken is tender and oil comes on surface.

     5: then add fresh corainder, a few green chilli mix.

     6: serve hot with roti, naanparatha
