Chicken Banjara Recipe
Ingredients
For Marination:
1: chicken 1 kg
2: yogurt 1/2 cup
3: paprika powder 1 tsp
For Curry:
1: green chilli 3
2: gram flour 1 tbsp (dry roasted)
3: ginger 3 inch piece
4: garlic 1 whole bulb
5: poppy seeds 1 tsp or (12 cashew nuts)
6: whole dry red chilli 4
7: cumin seeds 1 tsp (dry roasted & crushed)
8: coriander powder 2 tsp
9: garam masala powder 1 tsp
10: turmeric powder 1/2 tsp
11: red chilli powder 1 & 1/2 tsp
12: salt 1 & 1/2 tsp
13: bay leaves 2
14: cinnamon stick 2 pieces
15: tomatoes 3
16: onions 2 large (grind to a paste)
17: oil 3/4 cup
18: fresh coriander handful
Instructions
-
1: marinate chicken with yogurt, paprika mix well and keep aside for 30 minutes.
2: in a blender add tomatoes, poppy seeds, gram flour, green chilli, ginger, garlic grind to a paste.
3: heat oil add cinnamon sticks, dry red chilli, bay leaves, grinned onions and fry till changes colour on high flame.
4: now add the grinned masala, coriander powder, salt, turmeric, cumin, red chilli powder, garam masala powder, water 1/2 cup mix well and cook on high flame till the oil comes on surface.
5: add the marinated chicken, mix well, wait for a boil on high flame then cover and cook on low to medium till the chicken is tender and the oil comes on the surface.
6: then add fresh coriander mix well.
7: serve hot with naan, roti, paratha or rice.
