BLOOMING ONION

Ingredients

1: onions medium 8

2: plain flour 2 cups

3: dry bread crumbs 1 cup

4: oregano 1 tbsp

5: garlic powder 1 tbsp

6: salt 1 & 1/2 tsp

7: crushed black pepper 1 tsp

8: crushed red chilli 1 tbsp

9: red chilli powder 1 tsp (optional if like more spicy)

10: eggs 3 (i used 5)

11: oil for deep frying

 

For Sauce:

1: mayonnaise 1 cup

2: ketchup 4 tbsp

3: oregano 1 tsp

4: crushed black pepper 1 tsp

5: salt 1/4 tsp

6: garlic powder 1 & 1/2 tsp

7: hot sauce 1 & 1/2 tsp

Instructions

  1. BLOOMING ONION

     1: to make the sauce: in a bowl add all ingredients, mix well, and keep aside.

     2: in a bowl add plain flour, dry bread crumbs, salt, garlic powder, oregano, crushed red chilli, and crushed black pepper mix with a spoon and keep aside.

     3: cut off the tip of each onion, then peel the skin, wash them, and wipe with a tissue.

     4: nows cut the onions to the base so you have 8 segments.

     5: then use your fingers to separate the segments into pretty petals.

     6: beat eggs in a bowl.

     7: Dip the onions in the egg, roll in the plain flour mixture, for double coating repeat.

     8: heat oil.

     9: when the oil is hot add the onions and fry till golden on both sides on high flame.

     10: place on a paper towel to remove extra oil.

     11: serve hot with the sauce.
