Ingredients

 1: chicken 1 kg

 2: oil 1/2 cup

 3: black peppercorns 10

 4: cloves 6

 5: black cardamom 2

 6: cumin seeds 1 tsp

 7: cinnamon stick 2 pieces

 8: onions 2 medium (grind)

 9: ginger & garlic paste 1 & 1/2 tbsp

 10: tomatoes 3 large (grind)

 11: red chilli powder 1 & 1/2 tsp

 12: salt 1 & 1/2 tsp

 13: turmeric 1/2 tsp

 14: cumin powder 1 tsp (heaped)

 15: coriander powder 1 & 1/2 tsp

 16: potatoes 500g (cut in medium size)

 17: garam masala powder 1 tsp

 18: green chilli 5

 19: dry fenugreek leaves 2 tbsp

Instructions

  1. 1: heat oil add black peppercorns, cloves, black cardamom, cumin, and cinnamon and fry on high heat.

    2: add onions, ginger & garlic paste and fry on high flame till it gets golden.

    3: now add tomatoes, red chili, salt, turmeric, cumin, and coriander mix well, and cook on high flame till the oil comes on the surface.

    4: add the potatoes and cook in the masala for 4 minutes, on high flame.

    5: then add chicken and cook it with the potatoes for 10 minutes, on high flame.

    6: add 1 glass of water, wait for a boil on high flame, then cover and cook on low to medium flame till the chicken and potatoes are tender and oil comes on the surface.

    7: now add garam masala powder, green chili 5, and fenugreek leaves mix well, and simmer on low flame for 4 minutes.

    8: Served hot with roti, rice, or naan.
