APPLE PIE CAKE

Ingredients

For Cake:

 1: 1 box (Betty Crocker) vanilla cake mix 

 2: 180ml water 

 3: 60ml oil 

 4: 3 eggs

 

 For Apple Topping:

 1: 6 apples, peeled, thinly sliced 

 2: 3 tbsp brown sugar 

 3: 1 & 1/2 tsp cinnamon powder

 4: 2 tsp lemon juice

 

 For Crumble:

 1: 1 cup all-purpose flour 

 2: 1/2 cup packed brown sugar 

 3: 1/4 tsp salt 

 4: 113g unsalted butter (cut into small pieces)

Instructions

  1. APPLE PIE CAKE

     1: preheat oven to 350f, 180c, gas mark 4.

     2: grease bottom and sides of 13x9-inch pan with baking spray and flour.

     3: in a bowl, stir together flour, brown sugar, salt. With a fork, cut in butter until mixture is crumbly. Set aside.

     4: peel and deseed the apples, slice them, in it add the brown sugar, cinnamon powder, lemon juice mix well and set  aside.

     5: in another bowl add the cake mixture, water, oil, eggs and beat well for 2 minutes.

     6: pour the cake mixture in the greased dish, spread the apples, top the crumble.

     7: Bake 30 to 35 minutes or until toothpick inserted in centre comes out clean. Cool completely, about 30 to 1 hour.

     8: to serve warm the cake, dust powder sugar, top a scoop of vanilla ice cream, enjoy.
