ALOO MASALA RICE

Ingredients

 1: Rice 6 cups

 2: Potatoes 6-8 (cut in square pieces after peeling)

 3: Pickle 2 tbsp

 4: Green Chillies 3-4

 5: Tomatoes 3 (medium size)

 6: Yogurt 3 tbsp (thick full fat)

 7: Ginger & Garlic Paste 1 & 1/2 tbsp (heaped)

 8: Onions 2 (large size)

 9: Turmeric Powder 1 tsp

 10: Salt 1 & 1/2 tsp

 11: Red Chilli Powder 1 & 1/2 tsp

 12: Black Peppercorn 10-15

 13: Cinnamon Stick 1 & 1/2 inch (cut in small Pieces)

 14: Black Cardamom 2 

 15: Cumin Seeds 1 & 1/2 tbsp (white)

 16: Water 3 Big Glass

 17: Oil-less than 1 cup

  1. ALOO MASALA RICE

     1: In a pan add oil, onions & ginger, and garlic paste.

     2: Then fry onions till they turn golden.

     3: Now add cumin seeds, black peppercorn, black cardamom and cinnamon stick.

     4: Fry it and then add tomatoes, green chilies, salt, turmeric powder & red chili powder.

     5: Mix well and add water 3-4 tbsp & cook till tomatoes become gravy and oil comes on the surface.

     6: Then add potatoes & 1 to 1/2 cup of water and cook till potatoes become soft & tender.

     7: Now add pickle and yogurt mix well & cook the gravy for one minute till oil comes to the surface.

     8: Then add rice to the gravy, water mix & cook on high flame till water is dry.

     9: When water is dried keep the flame on low-medium & cook for 5-8 minutes.

     10: Enjoy and serve hot with puddingy ki chutney.
