 1: oil 1/2 cup

 2: kashmiri chilli powder 1/2 tsp

 3: asafoetida 1/4 tsp (heaped) ( Hing )

 4: cumin seeds 1 tsp

 5: onion 1 large (finely sliced)

 6: ginger & garlic paste 2 tsp

 7: tomatoes 3 medium (sliced)

 8: salt 1 tsp (heaped)

 9: turmeric 1 tsp

10: red chilli powder 1 tsp

11: crushed red chilli 1 & 1/2 tsp

12: water 1/2 cup

13: potatoes 1 kg (peeled and cut in cubes)

14: water 1/2 cup

15: garam masala powder 1 tsp (levelled)

16: bullet green chilli 3 (sliced)

17: dry fenugreek leaves 1 tbsp

Instructions

  1.  1: heat oil add Kashmiri chilli, asafoetida, cumin seeds, onion, ginger & garlic paste and fry on high flame till gets light golden.

     2: now add tomatoes, salt, turmeric, red chilli powder, crushed red chilli, water mix cover and cook on medium flame till the tomatoes reduce and oil separates.

     3: add the potatoes cook on high flame for 2 to 3 minutes, then add water cover and cook on medium flame till the potatoes are tender and oil separates.

     4: now add garam masala powder, green chilli, dry fenugreek leaves mix well on high flame for 1 to 2 minutes.

     5: serve hot with Roti or Paratha.
