GOBHI GOSHT

Ingredients

1: cauliflower 1 large (cut finely for chunks) (gobhi)

2: Baby lamb 1 kg

3: onion 2 large (chopped)
 
4: tomatoes 2 large (chopped)
 
5: ginger 2inch piece (cut in Julian)
 
6: green chilli 3
 
7: coriander powder 1tbs
 
8: salt 1 1/2 tsp
 
9: red chilli powder 1 tsp (heaped)
 
10: cumin powder 1tbs
 
11: cinnamon stick 1inch (2 pieces)
 
12: black cardamom 3
 
13: ginger & garlic paste 1tbs (heaped)
 
14: turmeric 1/2 tsp
 
15: all spices 1 tsp
 
16: cumin powder 1tbs
 
17: oil 1 cup

  1. 1: in a large pan boil enough water, then add the cinnamon stick, black cardamom and the cauliflower cover and cook for 15 to 20 minutes, then drain the water and keep aside.
     
    2: heat oil in the pan, add the onions, ginger and garlic paste, and cook till golden colour on high flame.
     
    3: then add the tomatoes, salt, turmeric, red chilli powder, cumin powder, coriander powder 1/4 cup of water and cook till oil comes on the surface on high flame.
     
    4: now add the meat and water cover and cook on low to medium flame till the water dries and the meat is cooked completely.
     
    5: then add the boiled cauliflower, and ginger mix well cover and cook on a medium flame for 5 to 10 minutes or till the oil comes to the surface.
     
    6: add all spices, green chilli, and fresh coriander mix well and serve with hot roti or naan
