Chicken Chatpata Recipe

Ingredients

First Marination:

 1. 1 & 1/2 kg chicken

 2. 1/3 cup vinegar

 3. 2 tbsp salt

 4. Water (enough to soak chicken)

 

 Second Marination:

 5. 3 tbsp thick yogurt

 6. 1 tbsp ginger & garlic paste

 7. 1 tsp paprika powder

 8. 1 tsp garam masala powder

 9. 1 & 1/2 tsp coriander powder

10. 1 tsp cumin powder

11. 1/2 tsp turmeric

12. 1 tsp red chili powder

13. 1 tsp crushed red chili

14. 1 tsp black pepper powder

15. 1 & 1/2 tsp salt

16. 1 & 1/2 kg chicken pieces

17. 1 tbsp dry fenugreek leaves

18. 4 tbsp oil

19. 1/2 cup cream

20. 3 tbsp tomato ketchup

21. 1 tbsp vinegar

22. 2 tbsp dark soy sauce

Instructions

  1.  Preheat oven to Gas Mark 6, 400°F, 200°C.

     

     1. In a bowl, combine vinegar, salt, water, and chicken. Leave it overnight or for 4 hours.

     2. In another bowl, mix chicken pieces with all second marination ingredients. Let it marinate for 1 hour.

     3. Transfer the marinated chicken to a baking tray. Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes, then flip and bake for an additional 30 minutes or until tender.

     4. Serve hot with naan, roti, salad, rice, fries, and cold drinks.
