Bhindi Do Pyaza

Ingredients

 

 1: oil 4 tbsp

 2: okra 250g (cut in small pieces)(bhindi)

 3: oil 1 tbsp

 4: onion 2 medium (cut and separate the layers)

 5: oil 1/4 cup

 6: cinnamon stick 1

 7: black cardamom 2

 8: fenugreek seeds 1/4 tsp

 9: cumin seeds 1 tsp

 10: green chilli 2 (chopped)

 11: onion 1 large (finely chopped)

 12: ginger & garlic paste 1 tsp

 13: tomato puree 2 tbsp (or) grind 2 small tomatoes

 14: salt 1/2 tsp

 15: red chilli powder 1/2 tsp

 16: turmeric 1/4 tsp

 17: cumin powder 1/2 tsp

 18: coriander powder 1/2 tsp

 19: garam masala powder 1/2 tsp

 20: dry mango powder 1/2 tsp

 21: fry fenugreek leaves 1 tbsp

 

Instructions

  1. Bhindi Do Pyaza

     1: in a pan heat 4 tbsp oil and fry the okra for 4 minutes and then remove and keep aside.

     2: heat oil and the onion and fry for 1 to 2 minutes and then keep aside.

     3: heat oil 1/4 cup add cinnamon stick, black cardamom, fenugreek seeds cumin seeds, green chilli and mix in hot oil, add the onion, ginger & garlic paste and fry till changes colour.

     4: add tomato puree 2 tbsp, salt, red chilli powder, turmeric, cumin powder, coriander powder, water 1 cup mix and cook on low flame till the water dries.

     5: now add the fried onions and okra, garam masala powder, dry mango powder, fenugreek leaves mix and simmer on low flame for 7 minutes.

     6: serve hot with roti.
