CHICKEN DIL BAHAR

Ingredients

1: chicken 1 kg (cut in 12 to 16 pieces)

 2: green cardamom 6
 
 3: black cardamom 2
 
 4: cloves 6
 
 5: black pepper corn 8
 
 6: cinnamon stick 2
 
 7: bay leaves 2
 
 8: butter 50g
 
 9: oil 1/3 cup
 
 10: green chilli 12 (grind with little water)
 
 11: onions 2 large (grind)
 
 12: ginger & garlic paste 2 tbsp
 
 13: cumin seeds 1 tbsp (dry roasted & crushed)
 
 14: turmeric 1/2 tsp
 
 15: black pepper powder 1 tsp
 
 16: thick greek yogurt 1 cup
 
 17: tomato puree 4 tbsp 
 
 18: cashew nuts 20 or almonds 20 (grind to a paste)
 
 19: milk powder 3 tbsp
 
 20: garam masala powder 1 tsp
 
 21: green chilli 2 (sliced)
 
 22: fresh coriander handful
 
 23: salt 1 tsp 
 
 24: Cream 4 Tbsp

Instructions

  1.  1: heat oil and melt butter, add chicken and fry for 5 to 6 minutes on high flame, then remove the chicken and keep          aside.

     2: in the same oil add green cardamom, black cardamom, cloves, black pepper corn, cinnamon sticks, bay leaves and    fry for a minute on high flame.

     3: now add the onion and fry on high flame till gets golden.

     4: add ginger & garlic paste and fry for 2 to 3 minutes on high flame.

     5: then add the chicken, roasted cumin, turmeric, salt, black pepper powder, green chilli paste, tomato puree, cashew      nut paste, yogurt, salt, water 1 cup mix well and wait for a boil, then cover and cook on low to medium flame till the oil    comes on surface.

     6: now add garam masala powder, cream, milk powder, green chilli mix, coriander leaves and simmer for 5 minutes on    low flame.

     7: garnish with little cream, green chilli, coriander to serve.

     8: serve hot with paratha, Poori Paratha or roti.
