Punjabi Aloo Tikki Recipe

Ingredients

1: potatoes 1 kg (boiled with 1/2 tsp salt & mashed)

 2: chana dal 1/2 cup (boiled with 1/2 tsp turmeric, 1/2 tsp salt, boiled and mashed)

 3: onion 1 medium (chopped)

 4: lemon juice 2 tbsp

 5: green chilli 4 (chopped)

 6: salt 1 & 1/2 tsp

 7: red chilli powder 1 tsp (heaped)

 8: garam masala powder 1 tsp

 9: mustard seeds 1 tsp

 10: fresh mint 3 tbsp

 11: fresh coriander 3 to 4 tbsp

 

 For Coating:

 1: eggs

 2: dry bread crumbs

Instructions

  1. 1: in a bowl add potatoes, dal, onions, lemon juice, green chilli, salt, red chilli powder, garam masala, mustard seeds, mint, coriander mix well.

     2: grease your palms and make round tikki.

     3: beat eggs.

     4: dip in egg, roll in dry bread crumbs.

     5: heat oil and fry till gets golden.

     6: serve hot with ketchup.

      

     NOTE: store in airtight container and keep in the fridge for a few days.
